Did you know that there are people who *gasp* use Google to find recipes? AND did you know that these recipes don’t always turn out so great? Unbelievable, right? Because everything I’ve ever Googled has been perfectly accurate. But the crack news team at Boston.com published this article today, so it must be, um, news.
Take a second and imagine what the planning meeting looked like. “What do we have for food news Ike? Any restaurant openings? Obscure ingredients you want to write about?” “No sir, but did you know that people are using the internet to find crappy recipes?” “Really? Start researching. I smell Pulitizer!”
While this blog is not a food blog, I know for a fact that people are finding it mostly by searching for food. (My favorite search term? “Pasta Salvi what the calorie fat.”) So many people are searching for food that Google added a Recipe View. I think people are pretty much aware that the recipes you find, especially those that weren’t written by trusted chefs, are hit or miss. But yeah, BDC, way to keep us informed.
